Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Why should I invest in
therapy?
A. Please ask yourself, what is the cost of your happiness and self worth? Most of the time life
becomes more expensive with a dysfunctional relationship/marriage, unsatisfactory or dead-end
career, children who act out or fail to reach their full potential. What is the
cost of your addiction or obsession? Time, money, and pain are the
price you pay for emotional dysfunction.
Q. How much time does each
session take?
A. Sessions normally last between 50 minutes and one hour.
Q. How long does therapy
take in order to start feeling better?
A. The pace of your progress depends on the complexity of the issue, the
competence of the clinician, and how motivated you are to help yourself during
the therapy. You can start to feel a substantial difference at any time and the
number of sessions varies with each person and their set of unique issues. In
my experience, adding energy psychology
can speed the healing process.
Q. How soon can I expect
to have an appointment with you?
A. Within three business days.
Q. I consider myself a shy
person, so how can “talk therapy” help me?
A. My introductory sessions are designed to help you feel comfortable
discussing your concerns. I have a series of questions and topics that we will
discuss — this often relieves the stress of not knowing what to say.
Q. What kind of payment do you
accept?
A. Insurance, cash, and checks.
Q. Can you suggest any books for me
to read?
A. I have a recommended, but not required, reading list for individuals
interested in further study of their issue(s).
Q. Do you prescribe
medications?
A. No, but I will refer you to area psychiatrists if needed or requested. If
you have insurance, you may also call to receive a referral within your network.
Q. I have tried medications
and they haven’t worked and/or I do not like the side effects. Do you have
alternative solutions?
A. I can refer you to area practitioners who conduct neurotransmitter testing
and provide an all-natural, non-prescription program developed by NeuroScience,
Inc.
Q. Do you conduct psychological
testing?
A. No, but I can refer you to area psychologists and you may also contact your
insurance company for in-network providers.
Q. I have tried therapy
before and it hasn’t worked, why?
A. It could be a number of things. Perhaps your previous clinician was not
experienced in your area of need. An undiagnosed medical or biochemical
condition may also have been the problem. Maybe you did not stay in therapy
long enough. An adjustment in one of these areas could mean the difference
between an effective therapeutic outcome or not.
Q. Why should I select you as a
therapist?
A. If you have liked what I have to say so far and you are serious about
feeling better, I’m probably the right person for you to start with. Please
keep in mind, my treatment approach will be tailored to your needs and my
commitment is to your healing. If you have any further questions, you may
contact me at (941) 284-4327. I look forward to hearing from you! You can also
